Joined Mar 9, Messages Got this odd problem with my legitimate version of Windows. Tried installing it on three hard drives now and each one has come up with the same issue - two of the HDD's were brand new.
Windows works fine for about a month after install, then for some reason it crashes with a BSOD and and error saying that there is a critical thread error causing the problem and Windows is shutting down the computer to prevent any damage.
The system will then work for a day or so before crashing again - or refuses to boot at all giving IRQ errors. I've replaced the hard drive twice now, only to have my system crash yet again last night.
Memtest has found nothing wrong with the system memory. A pirate copy of Windows works fine - and has worked fine for at least six months. My beta version of Windows 7 works fine as well Any ideas?
